How to play
How OneLiner works
New prompts drop every day at 5:30 a.m. IST. You get one answer per game, and the judge scores it right away.
The basics
- One line per game. Each game has a short character limit, so every word counts.
- Three scores, out of 100 each. Every game is scored on three things, like Funny, Bold and Believable. Your total is out of 300.
- One shot a day. Your first answer counts. You can earn a second try with credits.
- Daily leaderboards. See your rank, react to other answers with 😂 💀 🔥, and challenge friends to beat you.
- Streaks. Play any game each day to keep your streak. Streak freezes cover a missed day.
OneLiner
The main event. One line, three scores.
- Read today's prompt.
- Reply with one line, up to 100 characters.
- Tap Lock it. The judge scores it right away.
Scored on: Funny (Did it make you laugh?), Believable (Could it actually happen?), Bold (Did you take a risk?).
Example
Explain why you're late to work.
My auto driver took a shortcut through 2019.
Tip: The best lines are funny and almost believable.
Finish the Sentence
We start it. You land it.
- We give you the start of a sentence.
- Write the ending, up to 70 characters.
- The judge reads the whole sentence and scores it.
Scored on: Funny (Did it make you laugh?), Believable (Would a real person say it?), Bold (Did the ending surprise you?).
Example
The real reason I'm still single is
my plants need me.
Tip: The obvious ending scores low on Bold. Surprise wins.
Two-Word Roast
Exactly two words. Make them hurt.
- We give you a target: a thing or a situation.
- Roast it in exactly two words.
- The judge scores how hard it hits.
Scored on: Savage (How hard does it hit?), Accurate (Is it painfully true?), Unexpected (Did nobody see it coming?).
Example
Monday mornings.
Sunday's hangover
Tip: Roast things, never people.
Hot Take Arena
Agree or disagree. Then prove it.
- Read today's hot take.
- Pick a side: Agree or Disagree.
- Argue your side in one line. The judge scores how well you argued.
Scored on: Conviction (Did you sound sure?), Humor (Was it funny?), Clarity (Is your point easy to get?).
Example
Replying "k" is a complete sentence.
Agree: k is peace.
Tip: You win by arguing well, not by picking the right side.
Rant
One everyday object. Let it have it.
- Look at today's object. Everyone owns one.
- Rant about it in one line, up to 100 characters.
- The judge scores how hard your rant lands.
Scored on: Relatable (Would everyone nod along?), Funny (Did it make you laugh?), Heat (How fired up are you?).
Example
The phone charger
Works only at a 37 degree angle while I hold my breath.
Tip: Rant about the object, never about people.
Plot Twist
One shared story a day, in three chapters. Each chapter has a blank for you to fill. Your strongest score picks the next twist: Funny leads to 😂 Comedy, Fits leads to 🎠Drama, and Surprise leads to 🌀 Chaos. Your total out of 900 decides the ending: Legend, Decent or Disaster.
What scores zero
Answers that try to instruct or bribe the judge, answers that are hateful or sexually explicit, and attacks on real, named people. Swearing, dating jokes and dark humour are fine.
Credits
Credits buy a second try at a game. You can earn them by watching an optional short ad. You never have to watch an ad to play.
